Soudal of Turnhout are taking over the Limburg company Aerotrim, a producer of technical aerosols (spray cans/sprays). For Soudal this means a major enhancement of its existing product range. In the process Aerotrim will obtain access to new markets.

Soudal develops and produces glues, polyurethane foams, and sealants for the building trade, the DIY market and industry. Soudal is now supplementing this with technical aerosols, considerably expanding its product range. Dirk Coorevits, Soudal’s General Manager:
“Investments in new technologies and determined development of formulae for demanding applications, make Aerotrim a strong player in the business of filling aerosols for domestic and international customers. For Soudal, Aerotrim is a missing link in the development of our one-stop-shopping concept.
For Aerotrim of Overpelt the takeover opens up new vistas, since it can now reap the benefit of Soudal’s extensive international network and sees its future as assured with firm roots in Belgium.
“Across the innumerable challenges to the chemical industry, the context of a substantial group plays an important part for any business wanting to secure its opportunities for long-term investment and growth. This move means we can work on new markets”, is the tale at Aerotrim.
With branches in 27 countries, Soudal has over 1100 staff internationally and from 1966 up to now has been run as a family firm by its founder Vic Swerts. Last year the group achieved a consolidated turnover of over 300 million Euros. Its products are sold in over 100 countries throughout the world and include such internationally strong brands for the building trade as Fix All®, Silirub®, Soudafoam® and Soudaseal®.
Aerotrim produces aerosols for both industrial and domestic use, including cosmetics, car maintenance products, lubricants and cleaning products. With over 40 years experience the company has built up a strong position in these specific markets. In 2007 Aerotrim posted sales of 10.5 million euros and employed 40 people. The takeover means that they will be counting on additional growth in the years to come. |
